Fast track to Stamp 4 for non-EEA doctors

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment has announced changes to the immigration rules for non-EEA doctors.

The new rules establish that doctors who have been working in the State for more than two years will immediately be able to access a Stamp 4 permission and spousal work rights.

To apply, they should complete the Stamp 4 support letter form and return it to EPStamp4@enterprise.gov.ie along with a recent payslip. Applicants should clearly flag in the subject title that it is a Stamp 4 request in respect of a doctor.

An acknowledgement email will be sent shortly after submission of the form. The Department will contact the applicant if they require additional information.

Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure a timely response.

Once applications are approved by the Department, applicants will be notified of the decision, and if successful, a request will be sent on their behalf to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice will then process this application and issue the Stamp 4 permission directly to the applicant.

Applications will be accepted from Thursday, 10 March until Friday, 29 April.

If you would like to speak to someone about making a Stamp 4 request or any other immigration related matter, please feel free to contact our immigration law team at info@mcgrathmullan.ie.
