McGrath McGrane LLP was instructed by a client who had been involved in an accident at work. While removing goods from a high shelf, the client fell off a step ladder and suffered personal injuries of a soft tissue nature.
We initiated a claim on behalf of the client, who was employed by a supermarket chain. The employer of the client investigated the accident and also raised a series of questions, regarding the circumstances of same.
McGrath McGrane LLP responded to the queries indicating that certain information requested by the employer would be detailed in the proceedings to be issued on behalf of the client, if that became necessary.
No admission of liability was furnished and consequently an engineer was engaged by McGrath McGrane LLP on behalf of the client.
An application was then made to PIAB (Personal Injuries Assessment Board) so that the claim could be assessed. The employer of the client consented to the assessment of our client’s claim by PIAB and ultimately PIAB issued an assessment in excess of the sum of €20,000. This assessment was accepted by the employer and our client.
The client was very happy with the result which was achieved without the necessity of having to issue proceedings.
